Ingredients list for Khichu
- 1 cup Jowar flour
- 3 Green chillies
- 10 cloves Garlic
- 1 inch piece Ginger
- to taste Salt
- a pinch Soda bicarbonate
- 2 tablespoons Yogurt
- 1 tablespoon Sesame seeds (til)
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1/2 teaspoon Cumin powder
Method
- Heat 1½ cups water in a deep non stick pan. Grind green chillies, garlic and ginger with a little water to a fine paste. Add this paste to the water along with salt, soda and yogurt and mix well.
- Add jowar atta and cook, stirring to avoid lumps.Add sesame seeds and mix. Cover and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add oil and cumin powder and mix again. Cover and cook till it leaves the sides of the pan. Serve hot immediately.
