Ingredients list for Jardaloo Salli Marghi
- 1 kilogram Chicken cut into 8 pieces on the bone
- 150 grams Dried apricots stoned
- as required Potato salli
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 5 Green cardamom
- 1 inch stick Cinnamon
- 3-4 medium Onions sliced
- 2 teaspoons Garlic paste
- 2 teaspoons Ginger paste
- 2 medium Tomatoes chopped
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 tablespoon Sugar
- 2 tablespoons Malt vinegar
Method
- Soak the apricots in one cup of boiling water till they are soft.
- Heat the oil in a non stick pan. Add the green cardamoms and cinnamon and sauté till fragrant. Add the onions and sauté for two minutes. Add the garlic paste and ginger paste and continue to sauté. Add the tomatoes and sauté. Add the red chilli powder and
- Add the chicken and one cup of water. Mix and add the sugar.
- Cover and cook till the chicken is almost done. Add the apricots and simmer for two minutes. Add the vinegar and simmer for five to seven minutes or till the chicken is completely cooked.
- Transfer the chicken into a serving dish, garnish with the potato salli and serve hot.
