Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Jardaloo Salli Marghi Recipe

  • Chicken cut into 8 pieces on the bone 1 kilogram

  • Dried apricots stoned 150 grams

  • Potato salli as required

  • Oil 2 tablespoons

  • Green cardamom 5

  • Cinnamon 1 inch stick

  • Onions sliced 3-4 medium

  • Garlic paste 2 teaspoons

  • Ginger paste 2 teaspoons

  • Tomatoes chopped 2 medium

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Sugar 1 tablespoon

  • Malt vinegar 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Soak the apricots in one cup of boiling water till they are soft.

Step 2

Heat the oil in a non stick pan. Add the green cardamoms and cinnamon and sauté till fragrant. Add the onions and sauté for two minutes. Add the garlic paste and ginger paste and continue to sauté. Add the tomatoes and sauté. Add the red chilli powder and

Step 3

Add the chicken and one cup of water. Mix and add the sugar.

Step 4

Cover and cook till the chicken is almost done. Add the apricots and simmer for two minutes. Add the vinegar and simmer for five to seven minutes or till the chicken is completely cooked.

Step 5

Transfer the chicken into a serving dish, garnish with the potato salli and serve hot.
