Ingredients list for Jain Samosa
- 4-5 Raw Banana boiled, peeled and mashed
- 1 1/2 cups Refined Flour kneaded into dough with carom seeds
- 1/2 cup Boiled green peas
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- 2 teaspoons Garam masala powder
- 2 Green chillies chopped
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Sugar
- 2 teaspoons Lemon juice
- 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- for deep-frying Oil
Method
- Combine raw bananas, green peas, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, garam masala, green chillies, salt, sugar, lemon juice and coriander leaves in a bowl and mix well.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Divide the dough into eight equal portions and shape them into balls. Roll out balls into oval shaped thin puris.
- Halve the puris. Fold each half into a cone. Fill the cone with the raw bananas mixture and seal the edges with water to make samosa.
- Deep-fry the samosas in hot oil till golden. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange on a serving plate and serve hot.
