Ingredients list for Fried Fish
- 1 medium King fish (surmai) cleaned and cut into darnes
- 1/2 cup Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 5-6 Garlic cloves
- 2 Green chillies
- 1 tablespoon Scraped coconut
- 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- 2 tablespoons Tamarind pulp
- 1 tablespoon Cornflour/ corn starch
- 1/2 cup Semolina (rawa/suji)
- for shallow frying Oil
Method
- Put coriander leaves, garlic, green chillies, coconut and little water in a grinder jar and grind to a smooth paste.
- Put the fish darnes in a bowl. Add ground paste, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and tamarind pulp and mix well. Add cornflour and mix again.
- Spread semolina on a plate. Coat the fish darnes with it from both sides.
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Place the fish darnes and cook till golden from both sides. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange the fish on a serving plate and serve hot.
