Ingredients list for Eggless Mawa Elaichi Doughnuts

  • 2 cups + f Refined Flour
  • 1 cup Khoya
  • ½ tsp + fo Green cardamom powder
  • 12-15 Green cardamoms
  • 1 teaspoon Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Baking powder
  • 1 tsp + 8 Powdered sugar
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 110 grams Butter softened
  • to deep fry Oil
  • for coatin Castor sugar (caster sugar)


  1. Sift refined flour, salt, baking powder and 1 tsp powdered sugar into a bowl. Make well in the center and add activated yeast. Add milk and mawa and mix well. Add butter and mix well. Add cardamom powder and mix again. Knead into soft dough. Set aside till the dough rises.
  2. Knock back the dough, dust with refined flour and roll out the dough to about ½ inch thickness. Stamp out mini-doughnuts with a doughnut cutter.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai and deep-fry doughnuts on medium heat till golden.
  4. Grind green cardamoms and 8 tbsps sugar to a fine powder and spread on a plate. Coat the fried doughnuts in the cardamom-sugar powder. Or
  5. Spread castor sugar on a plate, add cardamom powder and coat the doughnuts in it. Transfer on a serving plate and serve immediately.
