Ingredients list for Dhansaak Masala - SK Khazana
- 1 tablespoon Cumin seeds
- 2 tablespoons Coriander seeds
- 2 Black cardamoms
- 15-20 Black peppercorns
- 1 teaspoon Fenugreek seeds (methi dana)
- 10-12 Cloves
- 2-3 blade Mace
- 2 Bay leaves
- 1 tablespoon Mustard seeds
- 10 Dried red chillies
- 2 inches Cinnamon
- 1/2 tablespoon Turmeric powder
Method
- Heat a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, black cardamoms, black peppercorns, fenugreek seeds, cloves, mace blades, bay leaves and mustard seeds and sauté for a few seconds.
- Add dried red chillies and cinnamon stick and dry roast till the spices are fragrant. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool slightly.
- Transfer the spices into a blender jar, add turmeric powder and blend to a fine powder.
- Store in an airtight container once the masala has cooled down completely. Use as required.
