Ingredients for Dhansaak Masala - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Cumin seeds 1 tablespoon

  • Coriander seeds 2 tablespoons

  • Black cardamoms 2

  • Black peppercorns 15-20

  • Fenugreek seeds (methi dana) 1 teaspoon

  • Cloves 10-12

  • Mace 2-3 blade

  • Bay leaves 2

  • Mustard seeds 1 tablespoon

  • Dried red chillies 10

  • Cinnamon 2 inches

  • Turmeric powder 1/2 tablespoon


Step 1

Heat a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds, coriander seeds, black cardamoms, black peppercorns, fenugreek seeds, cloves, mace blades, bay leaves and mustard seeds and sauté for a few seconds.

Step 2

Add dried red chillies and cinnamon stick and dry roast till the spices are fragrant. Take the pan off the heat and allow to cool slightly.

Step 3

Transfer the spices into a blender jar, add turmeric powder and blend to a fine powder.

Step 4

Store in an airtight container once the masala has cooled down completely. Use as required.
