Ingredients list for Dal Fry
- 250 grams Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal)
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- 3 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 2 medium Onion chopped
- 1 teaspoon Ginger chopped
- 1 teaspoon Garlic chopped
- 4 Green chilli finely chopped
- 1/2 cup coriander leaves chopped
Method
- Cook green gram with turmeric powder and salt. Mash and keep aside.
- Heat oil in a non stick pan. Add cumin seeds.
- Once they splutter, add onion, ginger, garlic and green chiillies. Sauté till onions are golden brown.
- Add cooked dal. Add sufficient water to adjust the consistency of the dal.
- Simmer for fifteen minutes. Serve hot garnished with coriander leaves.
