Dahi Toast

Ingredients 

  • 1½ cups hung yogurt
  • 8 white bread slices
  • 1 medium onion chopped
  • 1 medium tomato chopped
  • ½ cup corn kernels boiled
  • 3 tablespoons mixed coloured capsicums chopped
  • Salt to taste
  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste
  • 2 green chillies chopped
  • Fresh coriander leaves chopped as required
  • Butter to shallow fry + for applying
  • Green chutney as required
  • Cheese spread for drizzling
  • Schezwan sauce for drizzling
  • Nylon sev to garnish

Method

  1. Take hung yogurt in a bowl. Add onion, tomato, corn kernels, mixed capsicums, salt, black pepper powder, green chillies and coriander leaves and mix well.
  2. Apply butter to 4 bread slices. Apply green chutney on them and spread some yogurt mixture.
  3. Similarly, apply butter and chutney on the remaining 4 slices and place them over the yogurt mixture, chutney side facing downwards.
  4. Heat some butter in a non-stick pan, place the sandwiches in it and shallow-fry, turning sides, till golden brown on both sides.
  5. Cut each sandwich into 2 triangles and place in separate serving plates. Drizzle cheese spread and schezwan chutney on top. Garnish with nylon sev and coriander leaves.
  6. Serve immediately with wafers.
