Ingredients
- 3 whole dry red chillies
- 1 large onion, roughly chopped
- 1 small ball tamarind
- 2 medium tomatoes roughly chopped
- Salt to taste
- 2 tablespoons oil
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
- 1 teaspoon split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
- 8-10 curry leaves
Method
- Grind in whole red chillies, onion, tamarind, tomatoes and salt to a thick paste. Heat oil in a frying pan add mustard seeds and urad dal and cook until dal turns golden brown.
- Add curry leaves and the prepared paste and sauté for a couple of minutes. Cool and store in the refrigerator.
