By Sanjeev Kapoor 06 Apr 2016 in Recipes Course New Update Chilli Chutney Main Ingredients Red Chillies Cuisine Maharashtrian Course Pickles, Jams and Chutneys Prep Time 6-10 minutes Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Spicy Level of Cooking Moderate Others Veg Ingredients 3 whole dry red chillies 1 large onion, roughly chopped 1 small ball tamarind 2 medium tomatoes roughly chopped Salt to taste 2 tablespoons oil 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds 1 teaspoon split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal) 8-10 curry leaves Method Grind in whole red chillies, onion, tamarind, tomatoes and salt to a thick paste. Heat oil in a frying pan add mustard seeds and urad dal and cook until dal turns golden brown. Add curry leaves and the prepared paste and sauté for a couple of minutes. Cool and store in the refrigerator.
