Chicken Miraoni

Ingredients list for Chicken Miraoni

  • 350 grams Boneless chicken cut into 1 inch cubes
  • 6-8 Black peppercorns
  • 2 tablespoons Ghee
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic minced
  • ½ cup Fresh coconut grated
  • 1 teaspoon Tamarind pulp
  • 2 medium Onions finely chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • to taste Salt
  • ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder

Method

  1. Heat 1 teaspoon ghee in a small non-stick tempering pan, add peppercorns and let them splutter. Add ½ tablespoon garlic and sauté till pink. Switch off the heat, cool and grind alongwith coconut, tamarind pulp and some water and grind to make a fine paste. Set aside.
  2. Heat remaining ghee in a non-stick wok, add remaining garlic and sauté till brown. Add onions and sauté further for 2 minutes.
  3. Add chicken cubes and cook on high heat for a minute.
  4. Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Add ½ cup water, cover and cook on simmer for 5-7 minutes.
  5. Add the ground paste and mix well. Cook on simmer for 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve hot.
