Ingredients list for Chicken Miraoni
- 350 grams Boneless chicken cut into 1 inch cubes
- 6-8 Black peppercorns
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- 1 tablespoon Garlic minced
- ½ cup Fresh coconut grated
- 1 teaspoon Tamarind pulp
- 2 medium Onions finely chopped
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder
- to taste Salt
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
Method
- Heat 1 teaspoon ghee in a small non-stick tempering pan, add peppercorns and let them splutter. Add ½ tablespoon garlic and sauté till pink. Switch off the heat, cool and grind alongwith coconut, tamarind pulp and some water and grind to make a fine paste. Set aside.
- Heat remaining ghee in a non-stick wok, add remaining garlic and sauté till brown. Add onions and sauté further for 2 minutes.
- Add chicken cubes and cook on high heat for a minute.
- Add red chilli powder, turmeric powder and salt and mix well. Add ½ cup water, cover and cook on simmer for 5-7 minutes.
- Add the ground paste and mix well. Cook on simmer for 2-3 minutes.
- Serve hot.
