Ingredients list for Chicken Dhaniya Kurma

  • 600 grams Boneless Chicken Breasts cut into 1½ inch cubes
  • 2-3 tablespoons Fresh Coriander Leaves finely chopped
  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • 1 teaspoon Green chilli paste
  • 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Garam masala powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Refined flour (maida)
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 4 Bay leaves
  • 30-35 Bay leaves
  • 4-5 Cloves
  • 6-8 Green cardamoms
  • 2 medium Onions sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste


  1. In a bowl, mix together yogurt, green chilli paste, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, salt and refined flour.
  2. Add 1½ cups water and mix well.
  3. Heat oil in a non stick handi, add bay leaves, black peppercorns, cloves, green cardamoms and onions and sauté.
  4. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté. Add chicken and sauté lightly.
  5. Add yogurt mixture and mix well.
  6. Add coriander leaves, cover and cook, stirring frequently, for 5-6 minutes, till chicken is done. Serve hot.
