Ingredients list for Chicken Dal Pakode
- 250 grams Boneless chicken breasts
- 1 cup Bengal gram (chana dal ) soaked
- ½ cup Split black gram (dhuli urad dal) soaked
- ½ cup Split green gram skinless (dhuli moong dal) soaked
- 1 tablespoon Lemon juice
- 2 teaspoons Red chilli powder
- to taste Salt
- 1 tablespoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- ½ teaspoon Garam masala powder
Method
- Cut chicken into strips and mix with lemon juice, half the red chilli powder, salt and ginger-garlic paste. Set aside to marinate for 15-20 minutes.
- Put Bengal gram, black gram and green gram in a blender jar and blend into a thick paste using water if required.
- Put gram paste, coriander powder, cumin powder, turmeric powder, garam masala powder, remaining red chilli powder and salt in a bowl and mix well.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Spread rice flour on a plate.
- Dust the marinated chicken strips in the flour, coat well with the gram paste mixture and gently slide into hot oil. Deep-fry till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Serve hot.
