Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for CRISPY CORN - skk Recipe

  • Corn kernels boiled with salt and drained 1 1/2 cups

  • Cornflour 3 tablespoons

  • Oil to deep fry

  • Coriander powder 1 teaspoon

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Chaat masala 1 teaspoon

  • Dried mango powder 1 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Lemon juice 2 teaspoons

  • Dried parsley 1 teaspoon

Method

Step 1

Take corn kernels in a bowl, add cornflour and mix well.

Step 2

Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Add the corn kernels and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.

Step 3

Transfer the fried corn kernels into another bowl. Add coriander powder, chilli powder, chaat masala, dried mango powder, salt, lemon juice and parsley and mix well.

Step 4

Serve immediately.
