Ever wondered why the phrase “say cheese” is used just before a photograph is clicked? Simply because ‘cheese’ makes one smile! Not only the word but cheese as a food makes a lot of palates happy. It is an inexpensive, versatile and nourishing food. We have our very own Indian version as well as the ones made from soy milk that are even healthier. Whichever form, this is one food that is loved by one and all!

Ingredients for CHEESE GARLIC TOAST - skk Recipe

  • Processed cheese grated 2 cups

  • Cheddar cheese grated 1 cup

  • Garlic finely chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Bread slices 8

  • Green capsicum finely chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Red chilli flakes 1 teaspoon

  • Milk 2 teaspoons

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Butter as required

  • Beetroot chips to serve

Method

Step 1

Take processed cheese in a bowl, add cheddar cheese, garlic, green capsicum, red chilli flakes, milk, crushed black peppercorns and coriander leaves and mix well.

Step 2

Spread a generous layer of the cheese mixture on all bread slices.

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon butter in a non-stick pan, place 1 toast, cover and cook till the cheese melts.

Step 4

Apply some more butter on top of all the toasts, cut each toast into 2 triangles, arrange them on serving platter and serve warm with beetroot chips.
