Ingredients list for Butter Sev
- 1/4 cup Butter
- 1.1/2-2 cups Gram flour (besan)
- + for greasing Oil for deep-frying
- to taste Salt
- 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon Coriander powder
Method
- Grease a chakli press attached with sev stencil with some oil.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai.
- Put gram flour, salt, asafoetida, turmeric powder, cumin powder and coriander powder in a bowl and mix.
- Melt butter in a microwave, add to flour mixture. Add some water and knead into a stiff dough.
- Grease your palms with some oil and put a portion of the dough into the greased chakli press.
- Press sev directly into the hot oil and deep-fry on low heat till golden and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper. Cool.
- Serve or store in an airtight container.
