Ingredients list for Boondi ki Kadhi

  • 1 cup Yogurt
  • ½ cup Boondi
  • 4 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
  • ¼ cup Turmeric powder
  • to taste Salt
  • 1½ teaspoons Oil
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
  • ¼ teaspoon Asafoetida
  • 1 tablespoon Green chilli chopped


  1. Put gram flour, turmeric powder, salt and yogurt in a bowl and whisk till smooth and ensuring that there are no lumps. Add 3 cups water and keep whisking till a thin mixture is formed.
  2. Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add cumin seeds and when the seeds change colour, add asafoetida, green chillies, yogurt mixture, mix and cook till it comes to a boil. Reduce heat and simmer for 15 minutes.
  3. Add boondi, mix and cook for ½ a minute.
  4. Serve hot with steamed rice.
