Ingredients list for Banana Cake In Pan

  • 2 Ripe bananas
  • 1 Egg
  • 3/4 cup Castor sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon Vanilla essence
  • 1/3 cup Oil
  • 1 cup Milk
  • 1 1/4 cups Refined flour (maida)
  • a pinch Salt
  • 3 teaspoons Baking powder
  • 2 tablespoons Brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon Butter

Method

  1. Break egg into a bowl, add castor sugar and vanilla essence whisk well with an electric hand blender.
  2. Add oil and milk and continue to whisk till a homogenous mixture is formed.
  3. Sieve refined flour, salt and baking powder into the egg mixture and whisk well.
  4. Peel and slice the bananas.
  5. Heat brown sugar in a non-stick pan till it caramelizes and then arrange the banana slices over it.
  6. Add butter and cook the bananas for a few seconds. Pour the cake batter on top of the caramelized bananas. Cover the pan with a lid and cook on a medium low heat for 15-20 minutes.
  7. Turn the cake upside down on a plate and then slide it back into the pan. Cook the other side for 8-10 minutes.
  8. Remove cake from the pan and cool down to room temperature.
  9. Slice, arrange them on a serving plate and serve.
