Ingredients list for Bahala Bhath
- 1 cup Yogurt
- 2 cups Cooked rice
- to taste Salt
- 2 tablespoons Oil
- 1 teaspoon Mustard seeds
- 1 Dried red chilli
- 1 teaspoon Split black gram skinless (dhuli urad dal)
- 1/2 teaspoon Ginger chopped
- 1 Green chilli chopped
- 4-6 Curry leaves
- a pinch Asafoetida
- 1/2 cup Chilled Milk
- 1/2 cup Cucumber peeled and chopped
- 2 tablespoons Raw mango chopped
- 1 tablespoon Fresh coriander leaves chopped
- 10-12 Green grapes halved
Method
- Add salt to the rice and mix, mashing it well. Heat oil in a small pan. Add mustard seeds and let them splutter.
- Add red chillies, urad dal, ginger, green chilli, curry leaves and asafoetida. Add this tempering to the rice and mix well. Add yogurt and mix. Add chilled milk and continue to mix.
- Add cucumber, raw mango and grapes and mix well. Chill in a refrigerator. Garnish with coriander leaves and serve.
