Ingredients
- 3 large potatoes, peeled and cut into 1/2 inch pieces
- 2 tablespoons mustard oil
- 1 1/2 teaspoons panch phoran
- 2 dried red chillies
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1/2 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 teaspoon sugar
Method
- Heat mustard oil in a non-stick pan, add panch phoran and let the seeds splutter. Break the dried red chillies and add them to the pan. Add the potatoes and saute well.
- Add turmeric powder, saute and cook for 3-4 minutes. Add red chilli powder, cumin powder, and saute well. Cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Add salt, sugar and 2 cups of water, mix well. Cover and cook till the potatoes are completely cooked.
- Serve hot.
