Ingredients list for Vala Che Bhirde
- 250 grams Val Sprouted
- 3 1/2 tablespoons Coconut Milk
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 1/2 teaspoon Asafoetida
- 1 large Onion
- 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder (deghi mirch)
- 1/2 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- 3 tablespoons Fresh coconut scraped
- to taste Salt
- 1 teaspoon Jaggery (gur)
Method
- Remove the skins of the sprouted val. Peel and chop the onion. Heat oil in a pan, add cumin seeds, when they crackle remove from heat.
- Add chopped onion, asafoetida, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, salt and beat with a whisk till frothy.
- Add val, coconut milk and cook on low heat till val is cooked. Add grated coconut and jaggery. Stir for a minute till it dissolves.
- Serve hot with rice or ghavne.
