You might be picking out these emerald hued little jewels from your food. But, wait, before you do that anymore! As these are a good source of fibre and potassium, which keeps all of our body cells functioning properly. Just when you thought that green peas are only used to add that extra punch to your savoury dishes, try a rich, creamy matar ki kheer to satiate your sweet buds too!

Ingredients for Stuffed Bhuna Masala Kabab Recipe

  • Green Peas 1/2 cup

  • Dry Breadcrumbs blanched and finely chopped 10-12

  • Potatoes boiled, peeled and mashed 3 medium

  • Bhuna masala 65 grams

  • Oil 3 tablespoons

  • Green chillies finely chopped 3

  • Ginger finely chopped 1 inch

  • Red chilli powder 1 teaspoon

  • Garam masala powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Dry breadcrumbs 5 tablespoons

  • Cornflour for dusting

  • For garnishing

  • A lemon wedge

  • Thin strips of red capsicum

  • Thin strips of green capsicum


Step 1

Heat 2 tbsps oil in a non-stick pan. Add green chillies and ginger and sauté for a minute.

Step 2

Coarsely grind peas and add to the pan. Add French beans, red chilli powder, garam masala powder and salt and mix well. Sauté for 1-2 minutes.

Step 3

Add bhuna masala, mix well and cook for a minute. Transfer the mixture into a bowl. Add breadcrumbs and potatoes and mix well.

Step 4

Heat the remaining oil in a non-stick tawa. Dust your palms with cornflour. Divide the mixture into equal portions, shape each portion into a tikki and place them on the tawa. Cook flipping side till evenly crisp on both sides.

Step 5

Place a lemon wedge, thin strips of red capsicum and green capsicum on a serving plate. Transfer the tikkis on the plate and serve hot.
