Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Spiced Iced Tea - SKK Recipe

  • Cinnamon 2 inch sti

  • Black peppercorns 20-25

  • Ginger sliced 2 inches

  • Fennel seeds (saunf) 2 teaspoons

  • Green cardamoms 5

  • Ice cubes as required

  • Tea bags 2

  • Sugar syrup 1 cup

  • Lemon slices for garnish

  • Fresh mint sprigs for garnish


Step 1

Heat 2 cups water in a deep non-stick pan. Add cinnamon, peppercorns, ginger, fennel seeds, cardamoms and bring to a boil.

Step 2

Put some ice cubes into a large glass jar.

Step 3

Add tea bags in pan and boil for 2-3 minutes. Strain the mixture into a bowl and pour into the jar. Add sugar syrup and mix well.

Step 4

Pour into individual mason jars, garnish with lemon slices and mint sprigs. Serve chilled.
