Ingredients for Shalgam Ka Bharta Recipe

  • Turnips (shalgam) boiled and mashed 2 medium

  • Oil 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Garlic chopped 10-12 cloves

  • Onions sliced finely 2 medium

  • Ginger chopped 1 inch

  • Tomatoes finely chopped 2 medium

  • Red chilli powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Green chillies finely chopped 2-3

  • Salt to taste

  • Fresh coriander leaves finely chopped 1/2 cup


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic and onion and saute till light brown.

Step 2

Add tomatoes, ginger, red chilli powder and green chillies and saute for three to four minutes.

Step 3

Add shalgam and salt and mix well and cover and cook for five minutes.

Step 4

Add half of the coriander leaves and cook for two minutes.

Step 5

Serve hot garnished with remaining coriander leaves.
