Ingredients list for Quick Chakli

  • 1 cup Rice flour
  • ½ cup Refined flour (maida)
  • a pinch Red chilli powder
  • ½ teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
  • 1 tablespoon Butter softened
  • 4 small piece Yogurt
  • to taste Salt
  • for deep-frying Oil

Method

  1. Mix together rice flour, refined flour, chilli powder, carom seeds, butter, yogurt and salt in a bowl. Add sufficient water and knead to a soft dough.
  2. Put small portions of the mixture into a chakli mould and press out several chaklis onto a plastic sheet.
  3. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Deep-fry the chaklis on moderate heat till light golden brown and crisp.Drain on absorbent paper and cool.
  4. Serve or store in an airtight container.
