Ingredients list for Nasi Goreng

  • 3 cups Cooked rice
  • 250 grams Boneless chicken cut into thin strips
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 medium Onion chopped
  • 2 Green chillies chopped
  • 2 cloves Garlic chopped
  • 1 Leek chopped
  • 1 teaspoon Coriander seeds
  • 1 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • 3 Eggs
  • 250 grams Prawns (kolambi/jhinga) shelled and deveined
  • 3 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • to taste Salt

Method

  1. Break eggs in a bowl, add salt and whisk well.
  2. Heat a non stick pan and make omelettes. Slice into thin stripes and set aside.
  3. Heat oil in a wok, add onions, green chillies, garlic, and leeks. Saute till soft.
  4. Add coriander seeds and cumin powder. Saute for 2 minutes.
  5. Add chicken strips and toss for 5 minutes.Add prawns add cook for 3 minutes.
  6. Add cooked rice, omelette pieces, soy sauce and salt.
  7. Toss well and cook further for 5 minutes with little water. Serve hot.
