Ingredients list for Mushroom and Basil Pasta
- 8 Penne pasta sliced
- 2 cups Button mushrooms boiled
- 7-8 Fresh basil leaves torn
- 3 tablespoons Butter
- 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Refined flour (maida)
- 1 1/2 cups Milk
- 1/4 teaspoon Black peppercorns crushed
- 1 teaspoon Dried mixed herbs
- to taste Salt
- 2 tablespoons Processed cheese grated
- 2 1/2 teaspoons Fresh parsley chopped
Method
- Heat two tablespoons butter in a non-stick pan, add garlic and sauté till light brown.
- Add mushrooms, mix and sauté on high heat for one to two minutes.
- Add refined flour, mix well and sauté. Add remaining butter, mix well and sauté for a couple of minutes.
- Add milk and cook till thick, stirring continuously, to avoid lumps.
- Add crushed peppercorns, mixed herbs and salt and mix well.
- Add one tablespoon grated cheese and mix well. Add one teaspoon parsley, basil leaves and mix well.
- Add penne paste and mix well and cook till it gets heated through. Switch off the heat.
- Add one teaspoon parsley and mix well.
- Serve hot garnished with the remaining grated cheese and remaining parsley.
