Ingredients for Mirchi Mutton Recipe

  • Boneless mutton cut into medium sized pieces 500 grams

  • Banarasi red chilli pickle pieces 2-3

  • Green chillies 10-12

  • Filtered mustard oil 2 tablespoons

  • Cloves 6-7

  • Green cardamoms 6

  • Black peppercorns 1 teaspoon

  • Onions finely chopped 2 medium

  • Ginger-garlic paste 1 1/2 tablespoons

  • Turmeric powder 1/4 teaspoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Banarasi red chilli pickle masala 1 tablespoon


Step 1

Heat mustard oil in a deep non-stick pan till it begins to smoke.

Step 2

Roughly chop red chilli pickle pieces.

Step 3

Reduce heat under the pan, add cloves, cardamoms, peppercorns and onions and sauté for ½ minute.

Step 4

Add mutton, ginger-garlic paste, turmeric powder, salt and green chillies and mix well.

Step 5

Add pickle masala and chopped pickle pieces and mix well.

Step 6

Add 2 cups water and let the mixture boil. Cover and cook on low heat till the mutton is fully cooked.

Step 7

Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
