By Sanjeev Kapoor 25 Mar 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Advertisment Main Ingredients Green peas (matar), Basmati rice Cuisine Indian Course Rice Prep Time 26-30 minutes Cook time 21-25 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Matar Wale Chawal 1 cup Green peas (matar) 1 1/2 cups Basmati rice soaked for 30 minutes and drained 2 tablespoons Ghee 5-6 Black peppercorns 2 Green cardamoms 2 Cloves 2 Bay leaves 1 1/2 teaspoons Cumin seeds to taste Salt Method Heat ghee in a deep non-stick pan, add black peppercorns, green cardamoms, cloves, bay leaves, cumin seeds, mix and saute till fragrant. Add rice and mix well. Add salt and 3 cups water, mix well and let the mixture come to a boil. Add green peas, mix well, cover and cook till rice is completely done.
