Ingredients list for Masala Cheese Puri

  • 100 grams Cheese grated
  • 2 cups Whole Wheat Flour
  • 1 teaspoon Ginger-green chilli paste
  • a pinch Asafoetida
  • 1/2 teaspoon Amchur powder
  • a pinch Turmeric powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Red chilli powder
  • 1/4 teaspoon Cumin powder
  • to taste Salt
  • to deep fr Oil

Method

  1. Mix together cheese, ginger-green chilli paste, asafoetida, amchur, turmeric powder, red chilli powder and cumin powder in a bowl and mash well.
  2. Mix wheat flour, salt and enough water in another bowl and knead into a stiff dough.
  3. Divide the dough into equal portions and roll them into balls. Grease each ball with a little oil and shape into a katori.
  4. Stuff with cheese mixture, gather the edges and seal. Apply a little oil and roll it into a puri.
  5. Heat sufficient oil in a fryer, gently slide in each puri and deep fry till golden.
  6. Drain on absorbent paper. Transfer onto a serving plate and serve hot.
