Mac n Cheese Burger

Macaroni-cheese mixture mutton patties, grilled, topped with cheese & tomato slices, baked and served sandwiched in burger buns. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Mac n Cheese Burger

  • ¾ cup Macaroni boiled
  • 6 Cheese slices
  • 4 Burger buns
  • 1 tablespoon Butter
  • 1 tablespoon Refined flour (maida)
  • ½ cup Milk
  • to taste Salt
  • to taste Crushed black peppercorns
  • 1 cup Mutton mince (keema)
  • 2½ teaspoons Worcestershire sauce
  • to deep fry Oil
  • 1 medium Tomato
  • to sprinkle Parmesan cheese powder

Method

  1. Heat butter in a non-stick pan. Add refined flour, stir and sauté for 2 minutes.
  2. Add milk, stir and cook till the mixture thickens. Add macaroni and mix well. Add salt, crushed peppercorns and two cheese slices. Mix well till the cheese melts. Remove from heat and set aside.
  3. Take mutton mince in a bowl. Add salt, crushed peppercorns and Worcestershire sauce and mix well.
  4. Divide mutton mince mixture into large equal portions. Flatten them, place a spoonful of mac ‘n cheese mixture in the centre and cover with another mutton mince portion. Cover from all over and shape into patties.
  5. Heat some oil in a non-stick grill pan. Place the patties in it and grill for 2-3 minutes on each side.
  6. Transfer patties onto a baking tray.
  7. Cut tomato into slices and place a slice on each patty. Top each with remaining cheese slices and gratinate in the oven at 180ºC till the cheese melts and mutton is fully cooked.
  8. Slit burger buns horizontally into halves and toast them till crisp.
  9. Place the base burger halves on a serving plate. Put gratinated patty on top, sprinkle Parmesan cheese powder on top, cover with the upper burger half and serve immediately.
