Foreign invasions, trade relations and colonialism had introduced certain foods to the country like potato, chillies and breadfruit.

Ingredients for Lasoon Kakdi Magaz Ki Kheer Recipe

  • Garlic 10-12 cloves

  • Cucumber seeds 1/4 cup

  • Alum 1 tablespoon

  • Milk 3 cups

  • Green cardamom powder 1/2 teaspoon

  • Sugar 1 cup

  • Paneer (cottage cheese) cut into small cubes 50 grams

  • Almonds sliced 2 tablespoons

  • Raisins 2 tablespoons

  • Pistachios chopped 2 tablespoons

Method

Step 1

Peel garlic cloves and boil them in 1 cup water and alum till garlic looses its flavour.

Step 2

Drain and rinse in cold water and place them on absorbent paper. Chop them and set aside.

Step 3

Heat milk with green cardamom powder in a deep non stick pan.

Step 4

When it comes to a boil, add kakdi magaz and simmer till milk reduces and becomes slightly thick.

Step 5

Add garlic and sugar and stir till sugar dissolves. Simmer for 10 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside to cool.

Step 6

Pour into a serving bowls and serve garnished with paneer cubes, almonds, raisins and pistachios.
