Ingredients list for Five Spice Rice

  • 2 cups Cooked rice
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five spice powder
  • 2 tablespoons Oil
  • 1 tablespoon Garlic chopped
  • 2 Spring onion greens sliced
  • 1/3 cup Button mushrooms sliced
  • 1 teaspoon Red chilli flakes
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 tablespoon Dark soy sauce

Method

  1. Heat oil in a non-stick wok, add garlic and spring onion bulbs and sauté till golden brown.
  2. Add button mushrooms and sauté till they are tender.
  3. Add five spice powder, red chilli flakes, salt and sauté for a minute.
  4. Add the rice and dark soy sauce and toss to mix.
  5. Add the spring onion greens and mix and sauté for a minute. Serve hot.
