By Sanjeev Kapoor 26 Oct 2021 in Recipes Course New Update Main Ingredients Chickpeas, Oil Cuisine Middle Eastern Course Snacks and Starters Prep Time 8-10 hour Cook time 11-15 minutes Serve 4 Taste Mild Level of Cooking Easy Others Veg Ingredients list for Falafel Balls 1 cup Chickpeas , soaked overnight and drained to deep fry Oil 6-8 cloves Garlic 2 medium Onions , roughly chopped 1/2 cup Fresh coriander sprigs 2-3 Fresh parsley sprigs 1 tablespoon Olive oil 1 teaspoon Cumin powder 1 teaspoon Red chilli powder to taste Black pepper powder 1/2 teaspoon Baking soda to taste Salt Method Put chickpeas into a food processor, add garlic, onion, coriander sprigs, parsley sprigs, olive oil, cumin powder, red chilli powder, black pepper powder, baking soda and salt and blend into a coarse mixture. Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Transfer the mixture into a large bowl. Divide the falafel mixture into medium sized portions and shape them into balls. Gently slide these balls into hot oil and deep fry till golden brown and crisp. Drain on absorbent paper.
