Ingredients
- 1 1/2 cups yogurt (dahi)
- 1 cup chickpeas (kabuli chana), soaked overnight and boiled with salt
- 1 1/2 tablespoons oil
- 1 teaspoon cumin seeds
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 green chillies
- 1 tablespoon ginger-garlic paste
- 1/4 teaspoon turmeric powder
- 1 1/2 teaspoons garam masala powder
- Salt to taste
- A fresh coriander sprig for garnishing
Method
- Heat oil in a non-stick pan, add cumin seeds and sauté for ½ minute. Add onion and sauté till it turns a light golden.
- Roughly chop green chillies and add along with ginger-garlic paste, mix and sauté for 1 minute.
- Add chickpeas and toss. Add yogurt and mix well. Mash a little with a hand blender and mix well. Cook for 1 minute.
- Add turmeric powder and garam masala powder and mix well. Add salt, mix well, cover and cook on medium heat for 10-12 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving dish and serve hot garnished with coriander sprig.
