Corn was indigenous to America, but is now grown throughout the world. It is used as a vegetable, briefly boiled or roasted or eaten with butter. And it would also interest you to know that the favourite popcorn, made by popping the small corn kernels, is a wholesome cereal food and is easily digested. Besides this, corn sees its use in various other ways – salads, soups, subzis and even sweets too!

Ingredients for Corn Bread Roll Recipe

  • Corn kernels , boiled and crushed coarsely 1 cup

  • White bread 8 slices

  • Potato , boiled, peeled and mashed 1 medium

  • Onion , finely chopped 1 small

  • Green chillies , finely chopped 1-2

  • Ginger-garlic paste 2 teaspoons

  • Lemon juice 1 tablespoon

  • Fresh coriander leaves , chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Oil for brushi

  • Tomato ketchup to serve


Step 1

Preheat oven to 180° C.

Step 2

Take corn kernels in a mixing bowl, add potato, onion, green chillies, ginger-garlic paste, lemon juice, coriander leaves and salt and mix well.

Step 3

Trim the edges of bread slices.

Step 4

Sprinkle some water on each bread slice and lightly flatten between your palms. Put a portion of corn mixture in the center, bring the edges together, press to seal and shape into an oval shaped roll. Keep them on a plate.

Step 5

Line a baking tray with a silicon mat, place the rolls and brush some oil on top. Place the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 10-15 minutes. Remove the tray from oven.

Step 6

Arrange the rolls on a serving platter, drizzle some tomato ketchup on top of each roll and serve hot.
