Be a kid or a teenage or an adult or an oldie, chicken lovers trend all over the world at all times! One meat that is a favourite of all beyond belief! When cooked, it can be presented in many guises. Sauté it, fry it, toss it, bake it, steam it – eat it the way you want to. Whatever its form may be upon being cooked, its flavour may change but its flesh remains high in protein, low in fat and can be digested easily.

Ingredients for Chicken Bao - SK Khazana Recipe

  • Boneless chicken cut into 1 inch pieces 150 grams

  • Baos 8-12

  • Oil 1 tablespoon

  • Garlic finely chopped 1 tablespoon

  • Ginger finely chopped 1/2 tablespoon

  • Fresh red chiullies finely chopped `1-2

  • Spring onion greens chopped 2 tablespoons

  • Salt to taste

  • Black peppercorns crushed to taste

  • Dark soy sauce 1 tablespoon

  • Oyster sau ce 1 tablespoon

  • Honey 1 tablespoon

  • Cabbage shredded as required

  • Carrot strips as required

  • Cucumber thin slices halved as required

  • Fresh coriander sprigs for garnish


Step 1

Heat oil in a non-stick pan. Add garlic, ginger and red chillies, mix and sauté for a minute.

Step 2

Add spring onion greens and mix well. Add chicken pieces and mix.

Step 3

Add salt, crushed peppercorns, soy sauce and oyster sauce, mix well and cook for 1-2 minutes.

Step 4

Add some water and mix. Add honey, mix well and cook till the chicken is fully done.

Step 5

Stuff baos with some cabbage, some carrot strips, a cooked chicken piece and some cucumber slices.

Step 6

Garnish with coriander sprigs and serve immediately.
