Chicken Ball Sandwich

Marinated chicken mince shaped into balls, shallow fried and sandwiched between French bread halves. This is a Sanjeev Kapoor exclusive recipe.

Ingredients list for Chicken Ball Sandwich

  • 250 grams Chicken mince
  • 1 French bread
  • to taste Salt
  • as required Black peppercorns crushed
  • 1 small Onion chopped
  • 8-10 Garlic cloves
  • 8-10 Fresh thyme sprigs
  • 1/2 Egg beaten
  • 1 tablespoon Oil
  • 3 tablespoons Butter
  • 4-5 Iceberg lettuce leaves
  • as required Mustard sauce
  • 4-5 Cheese slices

  1. Preheat the oven at 180°C.
  2. Put chicken mince, salt, crushed peppercorns, onion, garlic, thyme and egg in a grinder jar and grind into a smooth mixture.
  3. Heat oil in a non-stick pan.
  4. Divide chicken mixture into eight equal portions and shape them into small balls. Place in the pan and shallow-fry, turning sides, till evenly done from all sides. Remove from heat and set aside.
  5. Heat a non-stick tawa.
  6. Halve the bread lengthwise. Apply butter on both the halves and place on the tawa with buttered side down and toast till the underside is nicely done.
  7. Put the toasted bread on a worktop with toasted side upwards. Place lettuce on the base half and put chicken balls on top. Spread a tablespoon of mustard sauce on top of the balls, sprinkle some salt and crushed peppercorns. Finally place the cheese slic
  8. Place the sandwich on a baking tray and cook in the preheated oven till the cheese melts.
  9. Cover the sandwich with remaining half and cut into two.
  10. Serve immediately with tomato ketchup.
