During the 18th and 19th centuries, the Americans developed a number of new foods.  What characterised the American cuisine is the adaptation of a fusion of multiple ethnic cooking styles. During this period food production and presentation became more industrialised.

Ingredients for Bread And Matar Pudding Recipe

  • Bread slices 4-5 slices

  • Green peas 1/2 cup

  • Butter 2 tablespoons

  • Eggs 4

  • Sugar 1/2 cup

  • Milk 2 cups

  • Raisins 15-20

  • Cashewnuts 10-12

Method

Step 1

Preheat the oven to 180ºC. Boil green peas and make a puree of it.

Step 2

Heat butter in a pan and sauté the puree for three to four minutes. Keep aside. Arrange the bread slices at the base of a baking dish. In a bowl mix eggs, sugar and peas puree. Add milk and mix again.

Step 3

Pour this mixture over the bread slices. Sprinkle raisins, cashewnuts and press a little.

Step 4

Bake in the preheated oven for thirty to forty minutes.
