Ingredients list for Bajra Khichdi
- 1 cup Bajra soaked
- 1/2 cup Split Green Gram soaked
- 1 cup + to serve Pure ghee
- 1 teaspoon Cumin seeds
- 7-8 Cloves
- 1 1/2 tablespoons Ginger grated
- 1 Green chilli broken
- 1/4 teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
Method
- Drain and put bajra in a chopper jar and crush.
Heat ghee in a pressure cooker, add cumin seeds, cloves, ginger and sauté till fragrant. - Add bajra and chilkewali moong dal and mix well and sauté for 3-4 minutes.
Add green chilli, turmeric powder and salt.
Sauté for 2 minutes. Add 4 cups water and mix. - Put the lid on and cook under pressure till 4-5 whistles are given out.
Let it stand till pressure reduces completely.
Serve hot with ghee or yogurt.
