Ingredients
- 250 grams red pumpkin, boiled, peeled and mashed
- ½ cup grated mozzarella cheese
- ¾ cup grated cheddar cheese
- A pinch of black pepper powder
- A pinch of sugar
- 1 small sweet potato, boiled, peeled and mashed
- Salt to taste
- 1 teaspoon onion powder
- 1 teaspoon garlic powder
- 2-3 tablespoons refined flour (maida)
- Oil for greasing + for deep frying
- Corn flour for rolling
- Tomato ketchup for serving
Method
- Take mozzarella cheese in a bowl, add cheddar cheese, black pepper powder, sugar and mix well.
- Take boiled pumpkin in a bowl, add sweet potato, salt, black pepper powder, onion powder, garlic powder and refined flour and mix well.
- Divide the cheese mixture into equal portions and roll into balls.
- Grease your palms, divide the pumpkin mixture into equal portions and make a cavity in the centre of each portion. Keep a cheese mixture ball in the cavity, gather the edges together and seal properly.
- Heat sufficient oil in a kadai. Spread cornflour on a plate
- Roll the cheese stuffed pumpkin balls in cornflour, slide some of them into hot oil and deep-fry till golden brown and crisp. Deep-fry the remaining balls similarly. Drain on absorbent paper.
- Arrange them on a serving platter and serve hot with tomato ketchup.
