Ingredients
- Spouted green gram (ankurit moong) to sprinkle
- 1 cup idli rava, soaked for 2-3 hours and drained
- ½ cup split skinless black gram (dhuli urad dal), soaked for 2-3 hours and drained
- Salt to taste
- Gun powder to sprinkle
- Coconut chutney to serve
Method
- Transfer split skinless black gram into a grinder jar, add 1 cup water and grind to fine paste.
- Add idli rava and grind coarsely. Transfer into a bowl and set aside to ferment for 6-8 hours.
- Add salt and mix well.
- Heat sufficient water in a steamer. Pour the batter into idli moulds, sprinkle sprouted green gram and gun powder on top and steam for 10-15 minutes.
- Demould and serve hot with coconut chutney.
