Ingredients
- 2 cups java plums (jamun), seeded
- ½ cup sugar
- 1 lemon, halved
- Salt to taste
- Black salt as required
- Chilled drinking soda as required
- Fresh mint leaves for garnish
Method
- Heat a pan, add jamun and 2 cups water and cook on medium heat for 10-15 minutes.
- Add sugar and continue to simmer till the sugar dissolves. Squeeze the juice of ½ lemon and mix well for 1-2 minutes. Add salt and mix well. Set aside to cool completely.
- Pour the mixture into a blender jar and blend to a fine mixture. Strain the mixture into a bowl. Transfer into an air tight container. Use as required.
- To make a drink, pour 2 tablespoons syrup into each serving glass, add ¼ teaspoon black salt. Top up with chilled drinking soda, garnish with a few mint leaves and mix well. Serve chilled.
