Ingredients
- 3 cups cooked Basmati rice
- 2-3 fresh oregano sprigs
- 1-2 fresh thyme sprigs
- 1 medium bunch green garlic
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- ½ tablespoon butter
- 1-2 fresh red chillies, diagonally chopped
- ½ tablespoon finely chopped fresh celery
- 1 tablespoon black sesame seeds
- 1 tablespoon white sesame seeds
- Salt to taste
- White pepper powder to taste
- 1 teaspoon sugar
Method
- Finely chop green garlic cloves and also the stalks. Keep them separately on a plate.
- Heat olive oil and butter in a non-stick pan add the green garlic cloves and sauté for 1-2 minutes.
- Add fresh red chillies and celery, mix well and saute for 1-2 minutes.
- Pluck the oregano leaves and thyme leaves from the sprigs and add into the pan. Mix well and saute for 30 seconds.
- Add black sesame seeds and white sesame seeds and sauté for 1-2 minutes. Add cooked rice and toss well.
- Add green garlic stalks, salt, white pepper powder and sugar and mix till well combined.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
