Ingredients
- 2½ cups fresh pigeon peas (toovar dana)
- ¼ cup ghee
- ½ teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 2-3 tablespoons chopped green garlic bulbs
- 1½ teaspoons green chilli paste
- 2 cups chopped green garlic stalks
- ½ teaspoon garam masala powder
Method
- Put fresh pigeon peas in a pressure cooker, add turmeric powder, salt and 2 cups water and mix well. Cover the cooker and cook under pressure on medium heat cook till 4 whistles are released.
- Open the cooker once the pressure has reduced completely.
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add chopped green garlic bulbs, mix well and saute till golden brown.
- Add green chilli paste, mix and saute for 1 minute. Add cooked pigeon peas and mix well.
- Add green garlic stalks and garam masala powder, mix well and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- Transfer into a serving bowl and serve hot.
