Bagel Sandwich

Ingredients

  • 4 bagels
  • Smoked salmon slices as required
  • 1 cup cream cheese
  • Salt to taste
  • Crushed black peppercorns to taste
  • 10-12 fresh dill sprigs + for sprinkling
  • Butter for applying
  • 1 medium English cucumber
  • 1 avocado, vertically halved and seeded
  • Pickled capers as required
  • Alfa alfa sprouts as required
  • Pickled onion as required

Method

  1. Take cream cheese in a bowl, add salt and crushed black peppercorns. Tear dill sprigs and add and mix till well combined.
  2. Halve the bagels horizontally. Apply some butter on the inside of the bagel halves. 
  3. Thinly slice English cucumber vertically with a peeler.
  4. Scoop out the flesh from avocado halves and slice them thinly.
  5. Heat a non-stick grill pan, place halves of one bagel with the butter side facing down. Grill on high heat for 1-2 minutes. Repeat with the remaining bagels.
  6. To make each sandwich, place the bottom half of bagel on a serving plate and apply a thick layer of cream cheese mixture evenly on it. Arrange avocado slices, topped with some smoked salmon slices, a few pickled capers, some alfa alfa sprouts, arrange a few cucumber slices and some pickled onion slices. 
  7. Apply some cream cheese mixture on the top half of each bagel, sprinkle some dill leaves and place it over the sandwich with the cream cheese side facing down. Serve immediately.
