Ingredients list for Veg Chowmein

  • 2 cups Noodles , boiled
  • 5-6 Button mushrooms , quartered
  • 3-4 Babycorn , diagonally sliced and blanched
  • 1/4 cup Mixed capsicum (red, green and yellow) diamonds
  • 1 medium Onion , thickly sliced
  • 1 tablespoon Sesame oil (til oil)
  • 4-5 Garlic cloves , sliced
  • 1 inch Ginger , finely chopped
  • 2-3 Spring onion bulbs , sliced
  • to taste Salt
  • 1 teaspoon Soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon Red chilli sauce
  • 1 teaspoon Vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon to garnish Sesame seeds (til) , toasted
  • for garnish Spring onion greens , diagonally sliced

Method

  1. Heat sesame oil in a non-stick pan, add garlic, ginger and spring onion bulbs, mix and sauté for 1 minute.
  2. Add mushrooms and babycorn, mix and sauté for 1 minute. Add salt and mix. Add mixed capsicums diamonds and onion, mix and sauté for 1 minute.
  3. Add noodles, soy sauce, red chilli sauce and salt, mix and cook for 2 minutes. Add vinegar and 1 teaspoon sesame seeds and mix well.
  4. Transfer onto a serving platter, garnish with spring onion greens and sesame seeds and serve hot.
