Ingredients
- 250 grams raw jackfruit
- 1 tablespoon split pigeon pea (toor dal/arhar dal), soaked
- 2 onions
- 1/45 cup scraped fresh coconut
- 1 teaspoon coriander seeds
- 1 teaspoon red chilli powder
- 1/2 teaspoon turmeric powder
- Salt to taste
- 1/2 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 teaspoon mustard seeds
Method
- Peel the jackfruit, remove the centre core and cut into 1” cubes. Peel and chop the onions. Roast the coriander seeds and powder them.
- Clean and wash the toor dal. Cook onion, toor dal and jackfruit cubes in 2 cups of water till done.
- Add coconut, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder and soaked peas and cook for 15 minutes. Heat oil and add mustard seeds.
- When they crackle, add it to the jackfruit and cook for 5 minutes.
- Serve.
