Ingredients list for Tandoori Pomfret
- 3 small Pomfrets fish, slit
- ½ teaspoon Turmeric powder
- to taste Salt
- Lemon juice of 1 lemon
- 1 teaspoon Carom seeds (ajwain)
- 2 tablespoons Gram flour (besan)
- ½ teaspoon Hung yogurt
- 1½ teaspoons Red chilli powder
- 1 teaspoon Ginger-garlic paste
- 1 teaspoon Garam masala powder
- + for greasing Melted butter 2 tablespoons
- for garnishing Lemon slices
Method
- Put fish in a bowl, add salt, turmeric powder and lemon juice and rub well. Set aside for 10-15 minutes.
- Dry roast carom seeds and gram flour in a non-stick pan till fragrant.
- Mix hung yogurt, chilli powder, ginger-garlic paste, garam masala powder and salt in a bowl.
- Coat the marinated fish in yogurt mixture. Keep in the refrigerator for 20 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180º C.
- Line a baking tray with aluminium foil and grease it with butter.
- Arrange the marinated fish over the foil and put the tray in the preheated oven and bake for 15 minutes.
- Serve hot garnished with lemon slices.
