Ingredients list for Sweet Potato and Sago Kheer
- 2 medium Sweet potatoes peeled, boiled and cut into cubes
- ½ cup Sago (sabudana) soaked for 2 hours
- 4 cups Milk
- 2 tablespoons Ghee
- ½ cup Sugar
- for garnishing Cashewnuts ¼ cup +
- for garnishing Raisins ¼ cup +
- ½-1 teaspoon Green cardamom powder
Method
- Heat ghee in a non-stick pan, add sweet potatoes, mix and stir-fry on high heat for about a minute. Remove from heat and transfer into a bowl.
- Heat milk in a deep non-stick pan and cook on low heat for about 10 minutes or till reduced. Add sago, mix and cook for 10 minutes or till the sago is soft.
- Add sautéed sweet potatoes, mix and cook for 5 minutes. Add sugar, mix and cook on low heat for 5-10 minutes.
- Add cashewnuts, raisins and cardamom powder, mix and cook on low heat for 5 minutes.
- Serve hot garnished with cashewnuts and raisins.
