How many times have we thought rice is a blessing? We use it for holy purposes but we also can pressure up a quick pulao or khichdi when hunger pangs are drumming away! This is one grain that is about 98% percent digestible. In India we are familiar with Basmati, Patna or brown rice but it is also available as Italian Rice and Glutinous Rice which is popular in Chinese and Japanese cuisines.

Prep Time : 1.30-2 hour

Cook time : 11-15 minutes

Ingredients for Sprouted Adai Recipe

  • Rice soaked 1 cup

  • Sprouted Green Gram 2

  • Dry red chilies 2

  • Fennel seeds (saunf) 1 tablespoon

  • Salt to taste

  • Curry leaves 2-4

  • Black peppercorns 2 teaspoons

  • Sprouted Green gram 1 cup

  • Onion sliced 2

  • Oil as required

Method

Step 1

Grind together rice, green chillies, dry red chillies, fennel seeds, salt, curry leaves. Black peppercorns, green grams and sufficient water to a coarse paste.

Step 2

Add onions to the batter and mix well. Heat oil in a non stick tawa and pour a laddleful batter in make a circular dosa. Drizzle some oil on it and cook till golden brown on both the side.

Step 3

Serve hot with green chutney.
